The Secret to Balancing All the Roles Life and Business Demand - MM 245

We wear so many hats in life and business.
Parent. Partner. Entrepreneur. Marketer. Salesperson. Leader.
What helps me move through all those roles with more ease is staying grounded in one core identity. For me, that identity is leader.
This past weekend I switched hats again during the week. I'm an entrepreneur coach, a business owner. On the weekend, I became a competitive dance mom. Again, makeup, costumes, driving, organizing, problem solving, all of it all at once. And the truth is, this is how life works for most of us.
We wear so many hats. Parent, partner, friend, employee turned, business owner, entrepreneur. And once you start a business, even more hats get edit. Marketer, salesperson, admin, finance, service provider. Holding it all together. So how do you move between all those roles without it feeling chaotic or disruptive, especially when some of them disappear and new ones show up.
What's helped me is this, I have one main identity that holds all of those roles together, and that's the one of a leader, a leader of myself. A leader of my actions, my choices, my goals, and the life I want to create. That identity helps me move between different roles with more ease. It helped me go from corporate leader to entrepreneur with.
Without a big identity crisis, it helped me embrace being not just a coach, but also a marketer and a salesperson, and learn those skills and master them as I went, because some parts of it I wasn't even good at because. And it helps me take ownership of the responsibilities that come with the life and the business I've chosen.
Because when I see myself as a leader, first it does. I don't resist the hat I need to wear. I just ask, what does leadership look like here? So today I wanna challenge you and ask yourself as well, what's the one identity that helps, that keeps you grounded through all the hats you wear?
And if you love, and I would love to hear from you what that is, shoot me an email at maggie@stairwaytoleadership.com. Have a fantastic week. Happy Monday.
