If you keep collecting strategies but you’re not executing, it might not be a strategy problem. But an identity problem.
You can’t build a CEO-level business with an employee or hobbyist identity.
If you keep collecting strategies but you're not executing, it's not because you're lazy. It's because you're trying to build a CEO-level business with an employee or at best hobbyist identity. So here's the question I ask all my clients: Who do you need to become to have the business you want? Most people don't know how to answer it at first because they... We've been trained to ask, "What do I need to do?" Not, "Whom do I need to become?" And what I've seen over and over again is this: the strategies actually aren't the hard part. They're the easy part. The hard part is the identity shift. Raising your prices isn't always just a pricing problem. Often, it's a self-worth and value problem. Building a team isn't just a hiring problem. It's a trust problem. Trusting other people can do things well and trusting yourself to lead them well. Getting more visible isn't a marketing problem. It's a courage problem, being willing to stand fully behind your value without shrinking. And I know this because I lived it. When I left corporate, I had 18 years of leadership experience and an executive MBA, and in my own business, I still second-guessed myself at first. I undercharged and over-delivered. I was terrified of being seen as too much The shift for me happened when I stopped trying to fit into what I thought a business owner was supposed to look like, and I started leading from who I actually was. So my question for you today is this: who do you need to become to create the business you want? Share that with me. Email me at maggie@stairwaytoleadership.com and let me know. Happy Monday
