Many business owners slow down in summer and wonder why Q4 is slow.

The two are connected. What you do today shows up in your results 60-90 days from now. In this Maggie's Moment, you'll learn what to do so that your Q4 2026 is the best one yet.

Happy Monday, everyone. My dear business owners, today I wanna give you a gentle but important nudge. We're heading into the last four months of the year, and if you want the last quarter of twenty twenty-six to be your strongest — back to school, holiday season, year-end budgets all working in your favor — you need to start planting the seeds right now. Not in September, right now. And here is why. In business, what you do today shows up in your results thirty, sixty, sometimes even ninety days from now. The clients you sign in October, they're coming from the relationships you're building in August. The referrals that come in November, they're coming from the conversations you're having today or next week. And yet, this is exactly when most business owners slow down. Summer hits, things feel quieter, and instead of planting seeds, they go into waiting mode. Waiting for referrals, waiting for someone to find their website, waiting for the phone to ring. But then October arrives, and they wonder why business is slow. Here is what data tells us. More than seventy percent of businesses say that combining their existing marketing with proactive outreach produces better results than either approach alone, and I see that in my own business, especially this year. In other words, waiting to be found is only half of the equation. The other half is going out and getting in front of your ideal clients intentionally. And I'm not just talking about cold outreach or ads. I'm talking about planting seeds in places where your ideal clients already are. If you serve homeowners, what about flyers in the neighborhoods where your best clients live? Door knocking, community events. And if your ideal clients are business professionals, LinkedIn is where they spend a lot of their time. Are you connecting, commenting there, starting conversations? And the more creative you are, the better. So maybe your ideal clients are in your local book club or your fitness class, your neighborhood association. Relationships built in real life convert beautifully because the trust is built so much faster there. The point is this: in twenty twenty-six, the most successful service-based business owners are not the ones sitting back and waiting to be found. They're the ones consistently showing up, building relationships, and planting those seeds so that when their ideal client is ready, they're the first persons that come to mind. So start today because your Q4 depends on it.
